Climate change BS has long been a growth industry but slowly skepticism is puching back

A Different Interpretation Of Issac Held’s View Of Forced Climate Change

Issac Held has a post on his weblog titled Summer is warmer than winter (Roger Pielke Sr.)

The central hypothesis of global warming fails the test, Prof. Bob Carter says

The Gillard Government is adopting as it’s climate policy “a unique line of advice from the IPCC” that is relentlessly repeated but not contested, Professor Bob Carter said today.

“The important thing is that this sort of policy advice be contested,” he told The Bolt Report on Channel Ten. (Australian Conservative)

Jeff Jacoby: Cooler Heads Prevail Against Climate Panic

The global-warming alarmists have had a good run, as the global-cooling alarmists did before them, but fewer people find the doomsday prophecies persuasive. Scaremongering wins headlines; fact-based skepticism eventually wins arguments. (via GWPF)

Exponential Growth Of Climate BS

Group A pushes the high end of statistical boundaries to get a scary sounding story. Group B starts with group A’s results and then again pushes the high end of statistical boundaries with their conclusions. Group C does the same, and so on and so forth.

Once you compound a 20% error five times, you have a 250% error. That is where all these idiotic claims of 10 degree temperature rise, multi-metre sea level rise, etc. come from.

There is a fundamental institutional incompetence in the alarmist community which needs to be eliminated. (Steven Goddard, Real Science)

  1. I guess the NYT is the odd man out on this one. Hell, they sat on the fence on Watergate and seem only to follow the current band wagon of AGW. Note to Times Editor, everyone with a brain is jumping off that parade.

  2. The New York Times is getting a brand new executive editor; for the first time in its history the Grey Lady will be steered by a lady.
I would rather exhale my CO2 than hold my breath waiting for an editorial policy change on this one, though.

  3. More and more scientists are jumping on the fence with the uncertainty claim. “We did not know but couldn’t express this in our studies.”
Protection of funding is more like it from the grant gravy train.
