The Macondo and Canton Wells

Opponents of natural gas development are using this week’s well blowout in Bradford County, Pennsylvania as an opportunity to draw dubious conclusions between natural gas development in the Northeast and BP’s Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico. Before continuing to make unfounded, anti-natural gas claims, critics would be wise to consider the facts concerning production in the Marcellus Shale versus the facts associated with the Deepwater Horizon platform.
